We can factor this polynomial using grouping. What we do is split the 36p into into parts so that we can factor the polynomial one half at a time.

To do so, we first multiply the leading coeffient by the constant. In other words, a times c where ap^2+bp+c. After multiplying 4 and 81, we get 324. Now we need to find two numbers that multiply to be 324 and add to be 36.

The factors of 324 are: 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 9, 12,18, 27, 36, 54, 81, 108, 162, and 324.

The pair of numbers that works in this case are 18 and 18 since 324 is a perfect square.

Now we split the 36p:

(4p^2+18p)+(18p+81)

Now factor both halves.

2p(2p+9)+9(2p+9)

We have a common binomial of 2p+9 that can be factored out it get

(2p+9)(2p+9)

or

(2p+9)^2

- Ex: 14x - 20 = 14x + 10, lets solve it

∵ 14x - 20 = 14x + 10

- Subtract 14x from both sides

∴ - 20 = 10

- The left hand side not equal the right hand side , then there is

  no value of x can make the two sides equal

∴ The equation has no solution

# Two sides of the equation have <u><em>same coefficient of the variable</em></u>,

  and <u><em>same numerical terms</em></u>, then the equation has infinitely

  many solutions

- Ex: 3x + 5 = 3x + 5, lets solve it

∵ 3x + 5 = 3x + 5

- Subtract 3x from both sides

∴ 5 = 5

- The left hand side is equal to the right hand side , then x can be

  any value because the two sides is already equal without x

∴ The equation has infinitely many solutions

∵ He will write two expressions simplified , not equal , have different

  coefficients on the variables and equate them, then it is like

  the first case

- That means not same coefficient of the variable, and may be not

 same numerical term

∴ The equation has only one solution
