Answer:

The coordinates of other point (x, y) are (4,1).

i.e. (x, y) → (4,1)

Step-by-step explanation:

Let AB be the segment where

 • The coordinate A(0, 9)
 • M(2, 5)

and we have to find the point B.

Let us assume the other point is (x, y)

As we know that

 • The midpoint is halfway between the two end points, meaning midpoint coordinates are basically termed as the average of the corresponding endpoint coordinates.

So,

Determining x-coordinate of (x, y)

\frac{x+0}{2} =2

x=4

Determining y-coordinate of (x, y)

\frac{y+9}{2} =5

y+9 =10

y=1

Hence, the coordinates of other point (x, y) are (4,1).

i.e. (x, y) → (4,1)

A glassblower decides to make an hourglass that will hold about 47 in^3 in each cone. If the radius of each cone is 3 in., what
Anastaziya [24]
Start with volume of cone equation
V = (pi)*r^2*(h/3)

Known values
V = 47 in^3 and r = 3 in

Solve for h
h = 3*(V/((pi)*r^2))
h = 4.99 in

Since this is the height for only one cone it would need to be doubled since two (2) cones make an hourglass.

Therefore total height would be approximately 9.98 inches. Suggest to make it 10.0 inches due to some transitional length were the cones come together in the middle
