One or more unwanted ionic pollutants are eliminated from water using the ion exchange technique by exchanging them with a less disagreeable or non-objectionable ionic material.

The engineers of ion exchange products need to know which items are soluble so that the the pollutant can be extracted  from the water by dissolving the ionic pollutant in a suitable solvent or exchange product. In order to identify the solvent, the engineer must be aware of the physical and chemical properties of the pollutant.

The exchanged material and the contaminant both need to be dissolved and have the same kind of electrical charge (positive or negative). A common instance of ion exchange is the "water softening" procedure, which lowers the amount of calcium and magnesium in the water.

Zielflug [23.3K]

Answer:Breanna exhibits a ruminative negative cognitive style and Terron uses a distracting cognitive style.

Explanation:

ruminative and distracting:

Ruminative cognitive style occurs when one is stressed and they feel like the situation is permanent and can not be changed. They think a lot about the situation , how disastrous it is and usually they turn it too personally where they see themselves as deficient and flawed. They can't get over the stressful situation so they sit an mourn over it for days and it affect even the way they are around others , they may even isolate themselves. That what Brianna is doing .

Terron on the other hand has found something that can distract him from the whole painful or stressful situation until he can be able to release it , as he jogs he is releasing all the stressful hormones that have been caused by the situation and after a good jog he feels better and fresh. This is a distracting cognitive thinking where one find something that can replace or eliminate the situation that is bothering them without dwelling on the situation.
