You’ve gone to visit your friend in Germany. As you’re getting dressed for a day out, your friend tells you it’s 16 degrees (Cel

sius) outside. The formula for degrees Celsius in relation to degrees Fahrenheit is
C=(5f-160)/(9)

a. Invert this equation to solve for Fahrenheit.
b. Tell what the temperature is in degrees Fahrenheit.
c. What kind of clothing should you wear for the day to be comfortable at that temperature?
d. Is there a temperature at which Celsius and Fahrenheit are described by the same number? Explain how you would find that number.

There's no need, I live in Europe so there would be no need to convert to Fahrenheit.

Chad is eating a 50-gram chocolate bar which contains 30% cocoa. How many grams of cocoa are in the chocolate bar?
Allushta [10]

Answer: 15 grams

If he had 100 grams of candy bar, then 30% of that is 30 grams (since 30/100 = 30%). Cut this in half and we end up with 30/2 = 15.

Another way to find the answer is to multiply 50 and 0.30 which is the decimal form of 30%. So we have 50*0.30 = 15 which is the same answer.

The notation f:S→T denotes that f is a function, also called a map , defined on all of a set S and whose outputs lie in a set T
AnnyKZ [126]

Answer:

There are many. Two examples are

f(x) = x, \\f(x) = x^3

Step-by-step explanation:

There are many examples. The simplest is

1 -

f(x) = x

It is trivial that

\text{if \,\,\,\,}  f(x) = f(y) \,\,\,\,\,\text{then} \,\,\,\,\, x=y

2 -

f(x) = x^3

That function is injective as well.

\text{if \,\,\,\,}  x^3 = y^3 \,\,\,\,\,\text{then} \,\,\,\,\, x=y

An example of a function that is NOT injective is

f(x) = x^2

Notice that

f(-2) = (-2)^2 = 2^2 = 4

The equation below can be used to find the length of a foot or forearm when you know one or the other. (length of the foot) = 0.
3241004551 [841]
This is child's play.

So, basically:
Y=Length of foot
X= Length of your forearm.
This is simple. Your equation is Y=0.860x + 3.302
So, if you have a forearm (x) that is 17 inches long, then plug in x as 17. This leaves you to evaluate for Y.
New equation: Y=0.860(17) +3.302
Work it out, you get: Y=14.62 + 3.302
Work that out, you get: Y= 17.922 inches long.
And of course, Y is the foot.

So, your answer: If the forearm is 17 inches long, then the foot is 17.922 inches long. Simple.

So, part 2:
Rate of change. Well, you need slope then, because that's the same thing.
Y=mx+b, Where m=slope
Your answer turns to be 0.860 inches per length of arm, for rate of change.

Skipping the data, as that's only something you'd know.

Yes, it is indeed a function. There can't be any exponents greater than 1 on the placeholder, and it's obviously not a straight line if you plug it in.

So yeah, it's a function.

~Hope this helps m8
