An allegory is often a story that has a moral or a hidden meaning. For example Adam and Eve, you know that story right. The moral is “Is one taste worth losing everything else you have” this can stand and be interpreted for many reasons
I did one once about the Holocaust. I talked about how the Jews survived and the Nazis failed to succeed. In the poem, I related the Nazis to a storm and the Jews to people on a wooden ship out at sea.
