The charges of entrance fee for a bus containing 30 people is $98

Equation

let

 • Fixed charge = x
 • Additional charge per person = y
 • Number of person = m

Charges For 2 people = mx + y

14 = 2x + y

Charges For 4 people = mx + y

20 = 4x + y

14 = 2x + y

20 = 4x + y

 • subtract both equation

20 - 14 = 4x - 2x

6 = 2x

x = 6/2

x = 3

Substitute x = 3 into

14 = 2x + y

14 = 2(3) + y

14 = 6 + y

14 - 6 = y

8 = y

Charges For 8 people = mx + y

= 8(3) + 8

= 24 + 8

= $32

Therefore,

Charges For 30 people = mx + y

= 30(3) + y

= 90 + 8

= $98

topjm [15]

Answer:

you want to follow PEMDAS so you would multiply 27 by 1/3 to get 81.003, which you would round to 81, then you would multiply 8 to the third power and you would get 512.

Step-by-step explanation:

27(1/3)^3

81^3

Michael bought four tacos and a burrito and paid $9.50. Noah bought two tacos and three burritos and paid $11. Based on the info
Afina-wow [57]
In order to solve this equation you could use guess and check with multiple choice, or you can set up a system of equations.
First we must define our variables:
x=price of taco
y=price of burrito
Michael bought 4 tacos (4x) and (+) and Burrito (y) for $9.50 (=9.5)
4x+y=9.50
Noah bought two tacos (2x) and (+) three burritos (3y) for (=) $11 (11)
2x+3y=11
To solve this system of equations you can easily see substitution as the easiest method. For substitution we must isolate one variable:
4x+y=9.50
y=-4x+9.5
We can now replace the y in the other equation:
2x+3(-4x+9.5)=11
Then solve this equation to get the price of a taco (x)
2x-12x+28.5=11
-10x=-17.5
x=1.75
The price of a taco would be $1.75
