Solve the linear equation x/2 + 2y/3 = -1 and x - y/3 = 3​

From Equation 1

$\dfrac{x}{2} + \dfrac{2y}{3} = - 1$

$\dfrac{3x + 4y}{6} = - 1$

$3x + 4y = - 6$

From Equation 2

$x - \dfrac{y}{3} = 3$

$\dfrac{3x - y}{3} = 3$

$3x - y = 9$

By eliminating ;;

For that multiply equation 2 by 4

12x - 4y = 36 _(3)

By taking equation (1) and (3)

3x + 4y = -6

12x - 4y = 36

15x = 30

x = 30/15

x = 2

Putting the value of x in 2

$3(2) - y = 9$

$6 - y = 9$

$6 - 9 = y$

$-3 = y$

So The value of x = 2 and y = -3

And

• x-y/3=3

Multiply by 3

• 3x-y=9-»eq(2)

eq(1)-eq(2)

• 5y=-15
• y=-3

• 3x-12=-6
• 3x=6
• x=2
