The surface area of the triangular prism is 93 squared feet.

<h3>What is the surface area of the triangular prism?</h3>

The surface area of triangular prism is expressed as;

S.A = bh + ( s₁ + s₂ + s₃ )H

From the diagram;

  • h = 2ft
  • b or s₁ = 3ft
  • s₂ = 3ft
  • s₃ = 3ft
  • H = 10ft

We substitute our given values into the equation above.

S.A = bh + ( s₁ + s₂ + s₃ )H

S.A = (3ft × 2ft) + ( 3ft + 3ft + 3ft )10ft

S.A = 3ft² + ( 9ft )10ft

S.A = 3ft² + 90ft²

S.A = 93ft²

The surface area of the triangular prism is 93 squared feet.

A triangle has an area of 30 cm2. The base and height are scaled by a factor of 3. What is the are of the resulting triangle.
Lera25 [3.4K]
The base and height scaled to some factor, simply means,
they're blown up by that much, or multiplied by that much,

in this case is 3, so.. the area would be 1/2 bh, now,
with 3b and 3h, what would it be?

\bf \begin{cases}&#10;A=\cfrac{1}{2}bh&#10;\\\\&#10;\textit{now, scaling "b" and "h" by 3}&#10;\\\\&#10;A=\cfrac{1}{2}\cdot 3b\cdot 3h\to \cfrac{1}{2}\cdot 9bh&#10;\\\\&#10;A=\cfrac{9}{2}bh\to 9\left(\cfrac{1}{2}bh  \right)\\&#10;--------------\\&#10;9\left(\cfrac{1}{2}bh  \right)\textit{ is really 9 times }\cfrac{1}{2}bh&#10;\\\\&#10;\textit{whatever the value of }\cfrac{1}{2}bh \textit{may be}&#10;\end{cases}

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

\bf A=\cfrac{1}{2}bh\qquad &#10;\begin{cases}&#10;b=2\\&#10;h=3&#10;\end{cases}\implies A=\cfrac{1}{2}\cdot 2\cdot 3\to 3&#10;\\\\\\&#10;\textit{now, let us scale "b" and "h" by 3}&#10;\\\\&#10;A=\cfrac{1}{2}\cdot  3b\cdot  3h\qquad &#10;\begin{cases}&#10;b=2\\&#10;h=3&#10;\end{cases}\implies A=\cfrac{1}{2}\cdot (3\cdot 2)\cdot (3\cdot 3)&#10;\\\\\\&#10;A=\cfrac{1}{2}\cdot 6\cdot 9\to 3\cdot 9\to 27

Butoxors [25]

Let f be the fraction invested at 10%. So (1-f) is the fraction at 7%. After one year the interest is

664 = 8200 f (.10) + 8200 (1-f) (.07) = 8200(.03)f + 8200(.07)

f = (664 - 8200(.07))/(8200(.03)) = .3659 = 36.59 %

Answer: 36.59%

Check:

8200(.3659)*.1 + 8200(1-.3659)*.07 = 664.01 good
