I am playing in a racquetball tournament, and I am up against a player I have watched but never played before. I consider three

possibilities for my prior model: we are equally talented, and each of us is equally likely to win each game; I am slightly better, and therefore I win each game independently with probability 0.6; or he is slightly better, and thus he wins each game independently with probability 0.6. Before we play, I think that each of these three possibilities is equally likely.
In our match we play until one player wins three games. I win the second game, but he wins the first, third, and fourth. After this match, in my posterior model, with what probability should I believe that my opponent is slightly better than I am?

Answer:

(-3, 1)

The solution is the point at which both lines intersect.

This is the solution since both lines would have that point and only that ppoint in this type of problem. IN a graph where 2 lines are parralel, there is no solution as they never intersect . on a graph where the 2 lines overlap there is infinite solutions. FInally in a graph like this there is exactly one solution and it is the intersection of both lines

With these numbers I have to find the median. Please help mee!!
Aloiza [94]
Write them in order from least to greatest,
11.9, 12.0, 12.3, 12.4, 12.4, 12.5, 12.7,12.8, 12.9, 13.1, 13.2, 13.8
then eliminate one from each side until you find the middle one,
12.5, 12.7
you have two middle, so you find the middle number in between them.

12.6 is the median.

Answer:

15 1/6

Step-by-step explanation:

change -8 2/3 into an improper fraction = -26/3

-4/7v = -26/3

cross-multiply:

3(-4v) = (-26)7

-12v = -182

v = 182/12

v = 15 1/6
