Respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) is an important cause of disease in older adults.

Safety and immunogenicity of a stabilized RSV prefusion F subunit (RSVpreF) vaccine candidate with/without adjuvant in adults 65 - 85 years.

What are the results of Study of a Respiratory Syncytial Virus ?

All RSVpreF vaccine candidates elicited robust and persistent serum neutralizing responses when administered alone or with SIIV.

 • There was no notable difference in neutralizing response between the formulations, including those containing CpG. In the Month 0,2 Cohort, there was no booster effect of dose 2.

 • SIIV responses were similar or slightly lower with concomitant administration of RSVpreF. Most systemic and local reactions were mild and more frequent after RSVpreF than placebo.

Hyperglycemia is a condition defined by a high level of glucose in the blood. The patient is most likely suffering from gestational diabetes mellitus.

What is gestational diabetes mellitus?

Gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) is a disease that is seen in pregnant women that are in their gestation period of delivering the child. This disorder occurs due to the prevention of effective use of insulin by the body due to the placenta. GDM is a type of diabetes that occurs only during the gestation period.

This imbalance in insulin levels results in a high amount of glucose getting deposited into the blood. GDM generally is seen to go away after childbirth as the placenta is expelled out and then the normal insulin regulation gets restored. The normal level of insulin regulates glucose after pregnancy.

Therefore, the patient is suffering from gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM).

Which of the following pairs is NOT correctly matched?
Stella [2.4K]

Answer:

The correct option is : c. subdural space-contains cerebrospinal fluid

Explanation:

The meninges are the protective membranes covering spinal cord and the brain. The meninges is composed of three membrane layers- dura mater, arachnoid mater, pia mater.

Dura mater is the thick durable outermost membrane of the meninges.

Arachnoid mater: It is the middle layer, present between the dura mater and the pia mater. It has a fine spider web-like appearance and thus it is named after the Greek word Arachne, meaning spider.

The pia mater or pia: It is a very thin and delicate innermost layer, which is present on the surface of the brain. The pia mater is loosely connected to arachnoid layer and is fused or firmly bound to the surface of the brain.

The space between arachnoid mater and pia is known as the subarachnoid space. This space is filled with the cerebrospinal fluid.

Therefore, subdural space-contains cerebrospinal fluid is incorrect and thus not the correct match.
