Online communication allows people the ability to create new identities. People can switch genders, race, age, etc. since the vi

sual and auditory cues used in face-to-face encounters are not used. Do you think this practice is helpful, harmful, or both to people’s self-concept? Does it create ethical issues when presenting oneself as something they are not? Why or why not? What might be some reasons people do this? How could this be both useful and not useful?

The above essay is an argumentative essay. See a sample below.

The question of whether or not the above practices are harmful or helpful is totally dependent on the reason why they are being done.

For example, witnesses to serious crimes and highly dangerous criminals may opt to alter their visual identities for sakes of protection. Alternatively, the criminals may also alter their identities to escape from the justice.

Hence, it is right to state that this does create ethical issues. The best practice maybe for society to come up with a system that keeps track of what kind of identity people switch from and to.

1.    The best types of media would be new's papers" so that you can have a hard copy, and that the people who don't have access to technology can get to the resources." The next type would be a web page for those who can get access to the internet / technology. Finally, the last type would be like a book or a brochure so that someone who wants to know can take the information with them.
2.    Some types of media that should not be included are some that are just people's opinions on the subject, because there is not any proven facts with their point of view.
3.    Some examples that would be good are "history.com", any history website that is not made by a person that has just said random stuff about the topic, and some books about the extinction of the dinosaurs that you can find at a library.

Hope this helped you in any way!!!

Dafna1 [17]

Hello. The full question is:

When he's speaking of his time in the camps hoping for rescue, Wiesel writes, "If they knew, we thought, surely those leaders would have moved heaven and earth to intervene." What kind of figurative language is this (metaphor, personification, hyperbole)? How does it support Wiesel's main ideas about indifference?

Answer:

metaphor

Explanation:

Wiesel uses metaphor to compare the indifference of political leaders to the lack of information about what was happening in the Nazi concentration camps. And it shows that the people who had the power to intervene in the atrocities that were happening to the Jews, did not, in fact, know how this situation was happening and that was why they were indifferent and did not present any concern or intervention.

The metaphor is a figure of speech that promotes an implicit or explained relationship between two elements that have some kind of relationship.
