Along with other distinct traits, robust australopithecines had large temporalis muscles and a sagittal crest, and large premolars and molars adapted for grinding food.

Robust australopithecines belong to the Australopithecus genus, they are known as robust because of their dietary adaptations that allowed them to eat hard and fibrous food that needs vigorous chewing and grinding.

They were adapted to eat seeds, nuts, plant roots, tubers, etc. They had large temporalis muscle (major muscle for chewing) and a large sagittal crest for attachment of temporalis muscle to the skull for chewing hard and fibrous foods.

They also had large premolars and molars to aid in chewing tough plant materials like roots and tubers.

Answer:

The six codons for arginine are the following:

GCA, GCG, GCT, GCC, TCT, TCC

A) Considering the individual bases in each codon, three mutations are possible at each base position. Hence, 3 × 3 × 6 = 54 mutations are possible.

B) Considering the mutations at the 3rd base: 3 × 4 + 1 × 2 = 14 of these mutations are silent mutations.

C) Lysine codons are the following:

TTT, TTC

There are two possible mutations that can give a lys codon.

Hope that answers the question, have a great day!

A particular leg bone for dinosaur fossils has a mean length of 60 inches with a standard deviation of 3 inches. What is the len
stepan [7]

The average length of a specific dinosaur leg bone is 60 inches, with a standard variation of 3 inches. If a z-score is 0, then the length is 67.

Divide your data point by your standard error after taking your data point and subtracting the mean from it. How is the z-score determined? Z-scores are calculated using the formula z = (x-)/, where x represents the raw score, the population mean, & the population variation. The z-score is just the raw score less the population mean, split by the population variance, as the calculation demonstrates. You now have your Z-score. For instance, a scoring of 450 would equate a scores of (450-500)/100 (= -50/100 = -0.50 on a scale with a mean of 500 as well as a standard variation of 100, indicating that the scoring is half a variance below the mean.

What components of the introns of nuclear genes that encode proteins in higher eukaryotes are conserved and required for the cor
leonid [27]

Answer:

The introns of protein-encoding nuclear genes of higher eukaryotes almost invariably begin (5') with GT and end (3') with AG. In addition, the 3'subterminal A in the “TACTAAC box” is completely conserved; this A is involved in bond formation during intron excision.
