The study of relationships and the evolutionary history of various groupings of species is known as phylogeny. The goal of phylogeny is to reconstruct the evolutionary course of all species on Earth. A phylogenetic tree also learned as a cladogram, is a schematic diagram used to show the alleged evolutionary relationships between taxa. Diagrams of phylogenetic trees are based on cladistics, or phylogenetic systematics, hypotheses.

Organization of life, according to taxonomy, divides creatures into three domains:

  • Bacteria
  • Eukarya
  • Archaea

The Eukarya domain are the most easy because they are large enough for their morphological features to be easily seen.

What is the manipulated variable in this experiment?
jasenka [17]

The correct answer is C. The temperature of the water

Explanation:

In an experiment such as the one described about the speed of snails in water, the manipulated variable is the factor or element that is manipulated on purpose. This means the researcher or researchers slightly change this element to compare how this affects another variable. In this context, the manipulated variable is the temperature of the water because researchers used three different temperatures (cool, room-temperature, and warm), and therefore they manipulated or changed this factor. Moreover, it is expected temperature affects the distance nails move, which is the main variable.

Give a short overview of the scientific achievments of Halley
svet-max [94.6K]

Halley — the traditional pronunciation of the name usually rhymes with valley — was born Nov. 8, 1656, in Haggerston, Shoreditch, London, England. His father was a prosperous soapmaker and property owner. Halley was tutored privately at home before entering St. Paul's School, where he excelled in mathematics and astronomy.

Halley entered Queen's College, Oxford, in 1673, when he was 17 years old. He brought with him a fine collection of astronomical instruments purchased by his father. While still an undergrad, he became a protégée of John Flamsteed, the Astronomer Royal. Halley made important observations at Oxford, including an occultation of Mars by the moon, and published papers on the solar system and on suns
