The interest expense on December 31 of the first year is <u>$5,250</u>.

<h3>What is the interest expense on bonds?</h3>

The interest expense for a bond that has the same coupon rate as the market rate is always the same for all periods of the bond.

This shows that the bond was issued at neither premium nor discount but at par.

<h3>Data and Calculations:</h3>

N (# of periods) = 20

I/Y (Interest per year) = 7.5%

PMT (Periodic Payment) = $5,250 ($140,000 x 7.5% x 1/2)

FV (Future Value) = $140,000

Results:

PV = $140,000.00

Sum of all periodic payments = $105,000 ($5,250 x 20)

Total Interest = $105,000

<h3>Schedule</h3>

Period        PV              PMT           Interest        FV

1           $140,000     $5,250 $5,250    $140,000

2          $140,000    $5,250         $5,250   $140,000

Thus, the interest expense on December 31 of the first year is <u>$5,250</u>.

I think this is a true or false question
The above statement is true.
As we can see that there are always some sort of affinity among people some have highly positive towards some and negative towards others so they will try to group up with the ones they like but this would always lead to dissatisfaction of some people in group as they will feel unfair as they are not in group they wanted but in random assignment no one has control so even if they are unsatisfied they cant blame it on others. So there are lesser differences

Janson Corporation Co.'s trial balance included the following account balances at December 31, 2021: Accounts receivable $14,000
11111nata11111 [884]

Answer:

$88,450 should be included in the current assets section of Janson’s December 31, 2021, balance sheet

Explanation:

Current Assets: The current assets are those assets which are converted into cash within one year.

Examples - Accounts receivable, inventory, prepaid insurance, cash, etc.

The computation of the total current assets is shown below:

= Accounts receivable + Inventory + Prepaid insurance + Short term investment

= $14,000 + $40,000 + $3,650 + $30,800

= $88,450

The amount of prepaid insurance which is given in the question is for two years. We have to compute for one year so we divide the total amount by number of years

= $7,300 ÷ 2 years

= $3,650
