A wholesaler that carries a wide product mix but offers only limited depth within product lines is called a. general merchandise wholesaler.

What is a general merchandise wholesaler?

General merchandise wholesalers are those merchandisers who purchase goods/ products on a large scale from one or more wholesalers, and then add value to those goods/ products by reselling them in small quantities through different sources, such as distributors, resellers, and retailers.

What can I sell in general merchandise?

The general merchandise product list includes shoes, clothes, home appliances, beauty products, pharmaceutical products, jewelry, and food products. They may not all be under one roof like the case of discounted stores, but they sell one or more of the products listed.

Is general merchandise business profitable?

The business model is simple; buy from a wholesaler and sell it to end consumer at a marginally greater price. Hence, the shop owners do not make profits unless they are able to sell a large quantities of goods. However, in recent years these stores are facing trouble because of the 'mall culture'.

THE QUESTION:

You have been put in charge of the taxation of the Mars colony. You need to decide how to tax the citizens of the colony.Will you institute a progressive, regressive, or a flat tax on income? Will you institute excise taxes? If yes, what goods and services will you tax and why? Will you institute sales taxes, property taxes, or VAT on goods?

Explanation:

I am not good at these terms, but

I would not use a flat tax, as I know that it would make lot's of people's life harder, from the middle class, to lower class, that might put people in financial struggles. Instead, I would charge different taxes on people, judged on their income. That would help lot's, and would be a good deed. Also, I will also use property taxes, because most of the time, if you didn't have money to spare, you wouldn't spend it on a house, right? I might have sale taxes, which I would say depends on how much I need as a government on MaRs! :|)

Colicchio Corporation acquired two inventory items at a lump-sum cost of $60,000. The acquisition included 3,000 units of knife
zysi [14]

Answer:

Explanation:

X001 Sales volum = 3000*$20 = $60,000

X002 Sales volum = 3000*$10 = $30,000

Total $90,000

Allocated to X002 based on sales volum is 33.33% (30,000/90,000) of the 60,000, which is $20,000

Cost per unit of X002 is $6.67 ($20,000/3,000). Sells 1000 units, $6.67*1000 = $6670.

Gross profit = Revenue $10,000 - Cost $6670 = $3330 in gross profit

Head-First Company plans to sell 5,100 bicycle helmets at $72 each in the coming year. Variable cost is 62% of the sales price;
bonufazy [111]

Answer:

the sales revenue that Head-First must make to earn operating income of $73,120 is $324,000

Explanation:

Hi, first we need to find the units to reach an operating income = $73,120

Price=72

Var Cost= 72*0.62=44.64

Fixed cost= 50,000

With that in mind, let´s formulate the equation

OperIncome=X(72-44.64)-50,000

Where:

X= units to sell

everything should look like this

73,120=X(72-44.64)-50,000

\frac{123,120}{(72-44.64)} =X

X=4,500

So, Head First has to sell 4,500 units in order to make that $73,120 operating income mark. Therefore, the sales revenue will be 4,500*$72=$324,000

If the world's population increased exponentially from 5.937 billion in 1998 to 6.771 billion in 2008 and continued to increase
Vaselesa [24]

Answer:

The world's population would have been 7.1137 billion in 2012, and this is 0.0437 billion (i.e. 7.1137 - 7.07 = 0.0437) higher compared to the population reference bureau estimate of 7.07 billion in July 2012.

Explanation:

This can be computed using the following exponential formula:

P(t) = P(0)a^t ............................ (1)

Where;

P(t) = World population in year t.

P(0) = World population in year 0 which is 1998 = 5.937 billion

a = base = ?

t = number of years

Substituting the value into equation (1), we have:

P(t) = 5.937 * a^t .......................................... (2)

Since we have 10 years from 1998 to 2008 (i.e. 2008 - 1998 = 10), we have:

P(t) = P(10) = World population in 2008 = 6.771 billion

t = 10

Substituting the value into equation (2) and solve for a, we have:

6.771 = 5.937 * a^10

a^10 = 6.771 / 5.937

a^10 = 1.1405

a = \sqrt[10]{1.405}

a = 1.013

Since we have 14 years from 1998 to 2012 (i.e. 2012 - 1998 = 14), we now have:

P(t) = P(14) = World population in 2012 = ?

P(0) = World population in year 0 which is 1998 = 5.937 billion

a = 1.013 as already calculated above

t = 14

Substituting the value into equation (1), we have:

P(14) = 5.937 * 1.013^14

P(14) = 5.937 * 1.192

P(14) = 7.1137 billion

Therefore, the world's population would have been 7.1137 billion in 2012, and this is 0.0437 billion (i.e. 7.1137 - 7.07 = 0.0437) higher compared to the population reference bureau estimate of 7.07 billion in july 2012.
