The ethical responsibilities of power in her relationship with Douglass include making sure he was fed and taken care of, and teaching him how to read.

Frederick Douglass, a former slave, was a prominent figure in the abolition movement in early 19th century in the US. In his autobiography, he recounts the transformation of his mistress Mrs. Sophia Auld from a kind and caring woman, to a cruel slave owner.

This was after Mr. Auld dissuaded her from teaching Douglass how to read, warning that it would make Douglass unfit to be a slave.

Through this narrative, Douglas attempts to demonstrate that slavery does not harm only the slave, it also harms the morality and character of the slaveholder as well.

In one to two paragraphs, explain how the Industrial Revolution led to the need for reform.
Anon25 [30]

The Industrial Revolution led to many changes. Work was massive and working conditions were totally unfair. Some examples were: minimal wages, underage kids were working, companies didn't pay taxes, workers were not safe, etc...

Thanks to the reforms, many concepts were introduced and laws were passed on that. This helped to regulate business practises. Companies couldn't evade taxes, workers made more wages and they could work in a healthier environment, working hours were normal ( 8 hours), children exploitation stopped.
