Though the character of his face had been at all times astounding. On which the cadaverousness of complexion, an eye large, fluid, and gleaming beyond contrast, his lips somewhat thin and very  wan, but of a surpassingly beautiful curve with a nose of a delicate Hebrew model, a finely molded chin, speaking in its want of prominence/of a want of moral energy, his hair of a more than web-like softness and tenderness.
