When one gets competition from rivals, the cooperative strategies are able to work together in order to gain an advantage in the competition, by knowing the strengths and weaknesses of the other person, that is, the rival.

This competition from a person's rival, will help the person prepare better and work harder to overcome their competition.

A lot of companies use this competitive strategy so as to outperform their rival companies and become the most profitable one in the market. These companies may sometimes use cooperative strategies in order to collaborate with other businesses so that they are able to achieve shared goals and also share resources with each other.
