  • From the passage, the claim of this author is that the electoral college has to be changed because it is outdated, unfair and a disadvantageous way of choosing the president of the nation.
  • The author used these two states Nebraska and Maine in order to buttress his points. These are small states but may favor the president who may be elected even tough he is not the choice of the people.
  • The reason I used this evidence to support my claim is that the states mentioned may not even produce the same number of votes like other states if the president was to be picked by the citizens solely. But despite their sizes, they still have the ability to make same picks as the large states.

I believe they should be allowed to vote, because decisions in the government should involve citizens who are from an associated free state, like Puerto Rico. The reason I think this is because the government does take part in the decisions of Puerto Rico as a country, and as a associated state.
