The large population of microbes that contributes to the gut microbiota and have an important role in food processing are called <u>Commensal microorganisms</u> .

The human body is host to trillions  of microbes or bacteria. Most of these are useful but may become harmful when out of control.

The microbiota consists of a wide variety of bacteria, viruses, fungi ,and other microorganisms present in a singular environment such as the human digestive tract.

<h3>Gut microbiota : </h3>

The gut microbiota is vast and complex collection of microorganisms that profoundly affects human health gut microbiota are present in the digestive tract of vertebrates including humans.

The function of gut microbiota in body function includes harvesting energy from digested food, protecting against pathogens, regulating immune system and strengthening biochemical barriers of the gut and intestine changes in microbiota composition can affects these functions.

The normal gut microbiota have specific functions like host nutrition metabolism, maintenance of structural integrity of the gut mucosal barrier, helps in immunity, protect against pathogens.

<h3>Commensal microorganisms:</h3>

Commensal microorganisms are those type of microbes that reside on either surface of the body or at mucosa without harming human health . commensal bacteria are 10 times more than the cells present in our  body.

Example - Streptococcus oralis and Streptococcus salivarius .

Commensal microorganisms plays an important role against pathogens including respiratory pathogens. It acts on the host's immune system to induce protective response that prevents colonization an invasion by pathogens. On the other hand these bacteria can directly inhibits the growth of respiratory pathogens by producing antimicrobial products .it also competing for nutrients and adhesion sites. Provides the host with essential nutrients.

<h3>What are microbes ?</h3>

Microbes are tiny living things that are found all around us and  are too small to be seen by eye. They live in soil, water and in air. The human body is the home of trillions of microbes.

Answer:

I live in a rural area which is surrounded by mountains and valleys. Near my home there is small forest area where there are hundreds of thick tall forests, algae and many other photosynthetic plants.

The atmosphere of that forest is very clean and refreshing because there is alot of oxygen being produced there due to alot of photosynthesis being done by all the lush green plants there.

Due to photosynthesis, carbon di oxide that is an environmental pollutant is maximum used by the plants and maximum. Oxygen is produced as a result of photosynthesis.

This causes the environment of not only that forest but my whole village very clean and fresh to breath. We are living a healthy life where there is a less prevalence of diseases or infections that are caused by environmental pollutants like Bronchitis, Lungs infection, neural disorders etc.

Therefore, even if there is not such an area near your home, we would suggest you to plant more trees in your backyard that will make the environment of not only your home but your area very fresh and clean.
