Simplify like terms

8g - 14g + 22 = 37

-6g + 22 = 37

Subtract 22 on both sides

-6g = 15

Divide -6 on both sides

g = \frac{15}{-6} = \frac{3\times 5}{-3\times 2} =-\frac{5}{2} = -2.5

g = -2.5

If you would like to solve the equation 8 * g - 14 * g + 22 = 37 for g, you can calculate this using the following steps:

8 * g - 14 * g + 22 = 37
- 6 * g = 37 - 22
- 6 * g = 15   /(-6)
g = 15 / (-6)
g = - 15 / 6
g = - 5 / 2 = - 2.5

Result: g equals to - 5/2.

Josie has 43 animal books and 29 art books. she puts all the books on 8 shelves. She puts the same number of books on each shelf
Dennis_Churaev [7]

Answer:

9

Step-by-step explanation:

There are 43 animal books 29 art books meaning there is a total of 72 books.

+1

 4 3

   2 9

_______

     7  2

9 + 3=12 so add a 1 to 4 + 2 which= 6 + 1=7

And our answer is 72 .

If there are 8 shelves and each have same number of books then what is 72 divided by 8.

It= 9. to find out the answer even though we know we will use it's factors just to make sure our answer is correct.

9 x 1=9

9 x 2=18

9 x 3=27

And remember  the 9 represents the books and the number 9 is is timesing by is the shelf number.

9 x 4=36

9 x 5=45

9 x 6=54

9 x 7=63

And our last shelf 9  x 8=72

So there we go each shelf has 9 books on it.

Hope this helps have a great day:)

There are 11 more goats than sheep in the farm. Together there are 137 animals in the farm. How many goats and how many sheep ar
VashaNatasha [74]

Answer:

The number of goats in the farm is 74

The number of sheep in the farm is 63

Step-by-step explanation:

Let

x----> the number of goats in the farm

y----> the number of sheep

we know that

x+y=137 ----> equation A

x=y+11 -----> equation B

substitute the equation B in equation A and solve for y

(y+11)+y=137

2y=137-11

2y=126

y=126/2=63

Find the value of x

x=63+11=74

therefore

The number of goats in the farm is 74

The number of sheep in the farm is 63
