For the given hypothesis test, explain the meaning of the kind of error, as requested. Suppose you are testing your friend to se

e whether she can tell the difference between the name brand and generic peanut butter. You give her 80 samples selected randomly, half from the name brand and half from the generic brand. The null hypothesis is that she is just guessing and should get about half right. Explain what the first kind of error would be in this case (when you reject the null hypothesis when it is actually true). A. The first kind of error would be saying that your friend can tell the difference between the two kinds of peanut butter, when she really can't. B. The first kind of error would be saying that your friend can tell the difference between the two kinds of peanut butter when she really can. C. The first kind of error would be saying that your friend cannot tell the difference between the two kinds of peanut butter, when she really cannot. D. The first kind of error would be saying that your friend cannot tell the difference between the two kinds of peanut butter when she really can.

Answer:

Option A is correct: A. The first kind of error would be saying that your friend can tell the difference between the two kinds of peanut butter, when she really can't.

Step-by-step explanation:

The null hypothesis: the lady is just guessing and should get about half right.

So the first kind of error (when you reject the null hypothesis when it is actually true): the lady is not just guessing and can tell the difference between the two kinds of peanut butter, whereas in reality, she can't tell the difference and is just guessing randomly.

A scale of 1:50 000 means that every centimetre on the map is equal to 50 000 centimetres (500 metres) in reality.

The distance between two towns on that map is 6cm, therefore in reality there’s 6 * 50 000 = 300 000 centimetres, which is equal to 3 000 metres, which is equal to 3 kilometres.

Answer:

Cinco de Mayo is celebrated on May 5, the date that the Mexican Army won and broke away from the French Empire, Battle of Puebla on May 5, 1862. The battle lasted for about 2 years, making it start in 1861. The reason why this began was because Mexico wanted to be independent. So the Mexican troops turned against the French Government. (At the time it was their own government.) Not that many casualties had accrued though, the French had nearly 500 people get hurt at Puebla, including more than 100 killed in action. Mexican losses were about 85 dead and more than 100 wounded.

Cinco de Mayo means 5th of May, The date that they won the battle. People celebrate this holiday in many ways, the biggest ones being Festivals, Parades, and Parties. They celebrate with dancing, and dressing up, and the one of the most known, food and drinks, like tacos, guacamole and tequila. Since that war declared there freedom this made it a pretty big Mexican holiday, like Day of the Dead.

A jewelry box is designed such that its length is twice its width and its depth is 2 inches less than its width the volume of th
Sedaia [141]

Answer:

Volume = 2x^{3}-4x^{2}

Step-by-step explanation:

Let x be the width of the jewellery box

Given:

Length of the box is twice its width

Length of the box = 2\times width

Length of the box = 2\times x= 2x

depth of the box is equal to 2 inches less than its width.

depth of the box = width-2

depth of the box = x-2

The volume of the box is 64 inches.

Solution:

We know that the formula of the volume is.

Volume = length\times width\times depth

Now we substitute all known value in above.

Volume = 2x\times x\times (x-2)

Volume = 2x^{2}(x-2)

Volume = 2x^{3}-4x^{2}

Therefore, the equation of the volume of the box is.

Volume = 2x^{3}-4x^{2}

Find the area of the given figure.<br> (answer choices on pictures)
Sergio039 [100]

Answer:

C) 63.2 cm^2

Step-by-step explanation:

Square: (b)(h) = 6 cm x 7.2 cm = 43.2^2

Subtract 10 from 6 to get the width of the rectangle.

Rectangle: (b)(h) = 4 x 2.8 = 11.2 cm^2

To find the triangle, subtract 7.2 with 2.8 and subtract 10 with 6.

Triangle: (1/2)(b)(h) = (1/2)(4)(4.4) = (1/2)(17.6) = 8.8 cm^2

Now, add everything together.

43.2 + 11.2 + 8.8 = 63.2 cm^2
