Hi good evening, I have been having some trouble with these equations, if you don't mind it would be nice if you helped me get t

he correct answer. Thank u in advance :)))))
1) y=-x+2
2) y=2/3x-1

*Keep in mind these are going to be graphed, they
are known as Graphed Linear Equations.

Check the picture below.

to graph a LINEar equation, since it's just a line and for a line all you need is two points and draw away, simply pick two random "x" values to get the "y" values and plot those two points.

for y = -x + 2

if we choose x = 0, then y = -0 + 2 => y =  2, that gives us the point (0 , 2)

if we choose x = 2, then y = -2 + 2 => y = 0, that gives us the point (2 , 0)

graph it and we get the blue line.

for the 2nd equation

y = \cfrac{2}{3}x-1\hspace{5em}\underline{x=3}~\hfill y=\cfrac{2}{3}(3)-1\implies y=2-1\implies y=1 \\\\\\ ~\hfill \boxed{(3~~,~~1)} \\\\\\ ~\hspace{9.5em}\underline{x=0}~\hfill y=\cfrac{2}{3}(0)-1\implies y=-1 \\\\\\ ~\hfill \boxed{(0~~,~~-1)}

graph it and we get the red line

notice, those points are in those lines, and to graph a LINE, all you need is two points.

Hence find the value of x that satisfies the two equations y =
sammy [17]

Answer:

x=6

Step-by-step explanation:

since y=5x/2-7, and y=4x/3

         so 5x/2-7=4x/3

              5x/2-4x/3= 7

              15x-8x/6=7

               7x/6=7

               x= 7*6/7= 6

The length of a rectangle is 2 cm more than four times the width. If the perimeter of the rectangle is 84 cm, what are its dimen
katovenus [111]

Answer:

Length 34 cm

Width 8 cm

Step-by-step explanation:

Let

x-----> the length of the rectangle

y----> the width of the rectangle

we know that

The perimeter of rectangle is equal to

P=2(x+y)

P=84 cm

so

84=2(x+y)

42=x+y ----> equation A

x=4y+2 -----> equation B

substitute equation B in equation A and solve for y

42=(4y+2)+y

5y=42-2

y=40/5=8 cm

Find the value of x

x=4y+2 ----> x=4(8)+2=34 cm

The dimensions are

Length 34 cm

Width 8 cm
