If one wishes to clone a gene using typical restriction endonucleases, how does the restriction endonuclease identify the appropriate cut sites in the genome using the palindromic sequence.

Restriction endonucleases are a family of enzymes usually found in bacteria that cuts DNA  at a specific sequence called recognition site. There are three type of restriction endonuclease Type I, Type II, and Type III.

Each endonuclease recognizes a particular sequence called palindromic sequence which is a sequence that reads the same sequence in both the strands either reading from the 3 prime end or 5 prime end.

The endonuclease cuts the palindromic sequence in such a way that it produces sticky ends.

Describe competitive and noncompetitive enzyme inhibition?
kozerog [31]

Answer:

use own words

Explanation:

In competitive inhibition, an inhibitor molecule is similar enough to a substrate that it can bind to the enzyme's active site to stop it from binding to the substrate. ... In noncompetitive inhibition, an inhibitor molecule binds to the enzyme at a location other than the active site (an allosteric site)

hat is the difference between competitive and non competitive inhibition?

The main difference is that in competitive inhibition, the inhibitor binds directly to the active site of the enzyme. ... Competitive inhibition can be overcome by increasing the concentration of the substrate. This cannot occur with non-competitive inhibition.

Which statement about lightning is true?
Vikentia [17]
The best statement that describes lightning is A. It is one of the most dangerous parts of a thunderstorm. Lightning, although often thought to always strike the Earth, can actually occur in the same cloud (intracloud) and between clouds (cloud to cloud). It is caused by the electrostatic discharge between charged particles in the atmosphere.
