War is the unexpected setting that Haidt outlines where people experience self-transcendence. Nothing brings people together like a battle, and that bringing them together opens up the prospect of remarkable self-transcendent experiences, thus many individuals claim to have found the self-transcendence there.

Fundamentally, self-transcendence is about transcending (or getting above) the self and relating to something bigger than the self. In plainer terms, it means accepting your place as a minor component of a larger whole and acting accordingly.

Self-transcendence values, in contrast, are anxiety-free and socially focused, reflecting a growth incentive and concern for others' well-being over one's own. As a result, they may boost prosociality, which fosters the development and maintenance of relationships.

Harlamova29_29 [7]

According to a different source, the movement that the question refers to is Black Lives Matter.

Black Lives Matter is a movement that originated in the African-American community, and which campaigns against violence towards black people, particularly from the state and in the criminal justice system.

This movement is similar to PanAfricanism in that both of them have a focus on race. Moreover, both of these movements see a connection between all people of color, and share a desire to bring them together. However, PanAfricanism does not oppose or criticize the government of any one state. Moreover, it addresses Black people everywhere (with emphasis in Africa), not just those in the United States.

Black consciousness, on the other hand, is similar to Black Lives Matter in that both movements were grassroots movements, and they both addressed the subject of police brutality and institutional racism. However, Black Consciousness focused on the South African apartheid, while Black Lives Matter focuses on the United States.

Is extravagance a social problem
serg [7]

Answer:

This is a bit of a complex question for a simple yes or no. Ultimately, extravagance can become a social problem related to the wealth gap, specifically if the extravagance comes from political leaders. For example, King Louis XVI lived in great extravagance. (During his reign, he built the Versailles palace.) The poor of France absolutely saw this extravagance as a social problem, and, well, Louis and his wife's heads ended up in a basket. Hope this helps.
