The linear equation in standard form is y=\frac{-5}{3}x +5.

<h3>Linear Function</h3>

An equation can be represented by a linear function. The standard form for the linear equation is: ax+b , for example, y=7x+2. Where:

a= the slope. It can be calculated for  \frac{\Delta x }{\Delta y}.

b= the constant term that represents the y-intercept.

The question gives: X-intercept:3  and  y-intercept: 5. Then,

  • The x-intercept is the point that y=0, then the x-intercept point is (3,0).
  • The y-intercept is the point that x=0, then the x-intercept point is (0,5).

With this information, you can find the slope (a).

a=\frac{\Delta y }{\Delta x}= \frac{0-5}{3-0} =\frac{-5}{3}

The question gives the coefficient b since it gives the y-intercept=5.

Therefore the linear equation is : y=\frac{-5}{3}x +5.

The absolute value function, f(x) = |x + 2| , is shown.
MariettaO [177]

Answer:

All real numbers

Step-by-step explanation:

Domain corresponds to values of x on the x-axis here in the graph we see that the graph of f(x) = |x + 2| exists on every value of x either positive or negative like a point as (1 , 3) , (-3 , 1) , (-2 , 0) so its domain is actually

-∞ < x < ∞

meaning that the graph exists from negative infinity to positive infinity on the x-axis which means All real numbers.

briana house is at (1,6) and jordan house is(5,3) what is one possible path from brianna house to jordan house
Maurinko [17]

Answer:

see the explanation

Step-by-step explanation:

Let

A (1,6)------> location Brianna's house on a map

B (5,3)------> location Jordan's house on a map

we know that

One possible path from Brianna's house to Jordan's house it's a straight line  ( the shortest distance)

using a graph tool

see the attached figure

<em>Find the distance points AB</em>

the formula to calculate the distance between two points is equal to

d=\sqrt{(y2-y1)^{2}+(x2-x1)^{2}}

substitute the values

d_A_B=\sqrt{(3-6)^{2}+(5-1)^{2}}

d_A_B=\sqrt{(-3)^{2}+(4)^{2}}

d_A_B=\sqrt{25}

d_A_B=5\ units

The distance from Brianna's house to Jordan's house is 5 units
