climate-change impacts on sagebrush habitat and west Nile virus transmission risk and conservation implications for greater sage-grouse

The expansion of West Nile virus and the loss of sagebrush habitat pose threats to greater sage-grouse over most of their range in North America, but the effects of climate change on these potential stressors in the future have not been considered.

Here, our goal is to estimate how climate change may affect the distribution of climatically appropriate habitats for sagebrush and the risk of West Nile virus transmission in the eastern part of the species' range.

In order to forecast future risks of West Nile virus transmission under plausible climate-change scenarios, we utilized a degree-day model and Maxent to model the current and future habitat that would support two main sagebrush species in the study region.

Why is using fossil fuels sustainable

Explanation:

Where are the extra Green house gases coming from?

Most scientist think that human activities such as burning fossil fuels, using cars and other vehicles ,and clearing forest have increased the amount of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere. There are green house gases in our atmosphere,e.g. water vapor , carbon dioxide , methane nitro us  dioxide and ozone.

They absorb heat from Sun rays and radiate in all directions, which warm's the Earth. The Earth could become too hot and this causes climate change which has a lot of effects on Earth. Earth's dry regions will become more drier and wet regions will become more wetter e.g.

What is the relationship between the soil’s permeability and the amount of groundwater?
dexar [7]

Answer with Explanation:

The amount of groundwater that can be stored will largely depend on the <em>"soil's permeability." </em>A permeable soil means that <u>it is easy for water to pass through the pores.</u> It has<em> </em><em>larger pores that are well-connected to each other</em> thereby allowing water to flow freely. This also allows the water to pass through the rocks, which then <u>increases its </u><u>porosity</u>. This also leads to an easier way to extract the groundwater.
