Alfred Wegener, in the first three decades of this century, and DuToit in the 1920s and 1930s gathered evidence that the continents had moved. They based their idea of continental drift on several lines of evidence:

 • fit of the continents
 • paleoclimate indicators
 • truncated geologic features
 • and fossils.

What is Alfred Wegener's theory of continental drift?

The existence of Pangea was first suggested at the beginning of the 20th century by the German meteorologist Alfred Wegener, which created a huge controversy among the scientific class of the time.

Paleoclimate indicators

Pangea is the name given to the supercontinent that made up the Earth's surface from the Permian to the Triassic periods. This single mass was also bathed by a single ocean, called Panthalassa. The separation of Pangea, which gave rise to the configuration of the continents as we know them today, began 230 million years ago.

With this information, we can conclude that Wegener also noticed that there were major mountain building event sin the northern Appalachians and in northwestern Europe of the same age.

-. Describe how ATP can release and store energy
for the cell.
PolarNik [594]

Answer:

ATP consists of an adenosine molecule

bonded to three phophate groups in a row.

In a process called cellular respiration, chemical energy in food is converted into chemical energy that the cell can use, and stores it in molecules of ATP.

This occurs when a molecule of adenosine diphosphate (ADP) uses the energy released during cellular respiration to bond with a third phosphate group, becoming a molecule of ATP. So the energy from cellular respiration is stored in the bond between the 2nd and 3rd phosphate groups of ATP. When the cell needs energy to do work, ATP loses its 3rd phosphate group, releasing energy.

Which of the following is a decomposer?
faltersainse [42]

According to an answer from another and a bit of my own research;

A decomposer is exactly what it sounds like, an organism that decomposes something and feeds off of it. You can eliminate the answers "Owl" and "Hawk" from a first glance as they are both consumers. Looking at it again, an "Ant" is not a decomposer, but rather, a consumer just like your other two options. This leaves "Fungus", something that decomposes it's food.

Please forgive me if I'm wrong. Feel free to ask for more information and I will scour the internet to see what I can find. <3

WHAT MUSCLES ARE INVOLVED IN DROP FOOT?
pochemuha
To compensate for this dragging, the patient will bend the knee to lift the foot higher than in a normal stride (high steppage). Foot drop typically affects the muscles responsible for moving the ankle and foot upward, specifically the anterior tibialis, extensor halluces longus, and extensor digitorum longus.
