The KWL chart is a perfect model that could assist the student in the learning of science.

What the KWL chart?

The KWL chart is a perfect model that could assist the student in the learning of science. In this model, the student has to note down what he/she already knows about the experiment that is going to be performed. The notes in another column the wonders that he/she hopes to unravel during the course of the experiment and in the last column the student has to fill what he/she has learned after the experiment.

Having said that, if I want to leant about water, I already know that the molecules of water are in constant random motion according to the kinetic molecular theory so I write that down.

Secondly, I wonder how these water molecules actually move. If i drop a pollen grain i water and observe the zigzag motion of the pollen grain due to the bombardment of the water molecules, I can now write that I have learnt that the molecules of water move in a zig zag manner.

The osmotic pressure of a solution formed by dissolving 35.0 mg of aspirin (c9h8o4) in 0.250 l of water at 25°c is __________ at
Lunna [17]
Mass of aspirin = 0.025 g
Molar mass of C9H8O4 is 180.1583 g/mol
moles of aspirin = .025g / 180.1583 g/mol = 0.000138767 moles
volume solution = .250 L
molarity of the solution = 0.000138767 moles / .250L =5.551 x 10 ^-04 Moles / liter
for aspirin i = Vant'Hoff factor = 1 particle in solution
T = 25 + 273 =298 K
osmotic pressure = M x R x T x i =
5.551 x 10 ^-04 mole L -1 x 0.08206 L atm K−1 mol−1 x 298 K x 1 = 0.0136 atmospheres

In this reaction, what is the substance oxidized? zn(s) + 2 hcl(aq) → zncl2(aq) + h2(g) zinc chloride chlorine hydrogen zn oxyge
Zarrin [17]
Zn(s) + 2 HCl(aq) → ZnCl₂(aq) + H₂(g)
Oxidation means lose of electrons and increase of positive charge so the part which oxidized in this equation is Zn(s) because it converted to Zn²⁺ (i.e. lost two electrons)

Which element, when combined with Iodine, would most likely form an ionic compound?
uranmaximum [27]

In an ionic compound the atoms are linked via ionic bonds. These are formed by the transfer of electrons from one atom to the other. The atom that loses electrons gains a positive charge whereas the atom that accepts electrons gains a negative. This happens in accordance with the octet rule wherein each atom is surrounded by 8 electrons

In the given example:

The valence electron configuration of Iodine (I) = 5s²5p⁵

It needs only one electron to complete its octet.

In the given options:

K = 4s¹

C = 2s²2p²

Cl = 3s²3p⁵

P = 3s²3p³

Thus K can donate its valence electron to Iodine. As a result K, will gain a stable noble gas configuration of argon while iodine would gain an octet. This would also balance the charges as K⁺I⁻ creating a neutral molecule.

Ans: Potassium (K)
