The simplified form of the expression  ( 6 1/5 - 3 3/4 ) as a mixed fraction 2\frac{9}{20}.

<h3>What is the simplified form of the expression?</h3>

Given the data in the question;

6 1/5 - 3 3/4

First we convert the mixed fraction into an improper fraction.

6 1/5 = ( 6×5 + 1 )/5 = ( 30 + 1 )/5 = 31/5

3 3/4 = ( 3×4 + 3)/4 = ( 12 + 3 )/4 = 15/4

Hence;

31/5 - 15/4

We re-write both terms with common denominator.

( 31/5 × 4/4 ) - ( 15/4 × 5/5 )

124/20 - 75/20

Now, we can combine the denominators over  common denominator.

( 124 - 75 )/20

( 124 - 75 )/20

49/20

Next we convert to a mixed fraction

We can get 20 from 49, 2 times with a remainder of 9

Hence

\frac{49}{20} = 2\frac{9}{20}

2\frac{9}{20}

The simplified form of the expression  ( 6 1/5 - 3 3/4 ) as a mixed fraction 2\frac{9}{20}.

Jesse and Peyton were on scooters jesse traveled 15 in 6 seconds peyton travels 22 meters in 10 seconds who was moving faster? e
DiKsa [7]

9514 1404 393

Answer:

  Jesse

Step-by-step explanation:

Jesse's distance in 60 seconds would be ...

  (60 s)(15 m)/(6 s) = 150 m

Peyton's distance in 60 seconds would be ...

  (60 s)(22 m)/(10 s) = 132 m

Jesse travels farther in the same amount of time, so Jesse is moving faster.

__

You might find it simpler just to compute the rate of each.

  Jesse: (15 m)/(6 s) = 2.5 m/s

  Peyton: (22 m)/(10 s) = 2.2 m/s

Jesse's speed is higher.
