The number is 4.

What is the Quotient?

A quotient is defined as the outcome of dividing an integer by any divisor that can be said to be a quotient. The dividend contains the divisor a specific number of times.

Let n be the number in question; then, we can write the word problem as an equation like this:

⇒ (n/6) + 1/3 = 7/6

Multiply everything by the least common multiple of all the denominators (6, 3, 6), which is 6.

⇒ 6(n/6) + 9(1/3) = 6(7/6)

⇒ n + 3 = 7

Subtract 3 from both sides,

⇒ n = 4

Hence, the number is 4.

To solve the question we use the following analogy:
Given that the odds of winning is a/b, then the probability is b/(a+b)
hence to solve the question we proceed as follows:

a]
P(E)=11/36
odds against E=(36-11)/11
simplifying this gives us:
25/11

b] P(E)=31/36
odds against E=(36-31)/31
simplifying this we get:
5/31
hence odds in favor of E=31/5

c]P(E)=32/36
odds in favor of E will be:
36/(36-32)
simplifying the above we get:
36/4
=9/1

d]
P(E)=30/36
odds against E will be:
(36-30)/36
simplifying this we obtain:
6/36
=1/5

e] P(E)=13/36
odds against E will be:
(36-13)/13
simplifying this we obtain:
23/13

Answer & Step-by-step explanation:

37.

Linda walked 3/4 (or 75%) of a track which is 3.5 miles long

Multiply 0.75 by 3.5 to get 2.625 miles (or 2 and 5/8 miles)

38.

We need to multiply the 2 and 3/8 mile track by 2 and a half (2 and 0.5)

1/8 is 0.125

2/8 is 0.25

3/8 is 0.375

The track is 2.375 miles long.

Multiply 2.375 by 2.5

The track will be 5.9375 miles long after 5 years ( or 5 and 15/16 miles)

kenny6666 [7]
Recall your d = rt, distance = rate * time.

the runner takes off and goes at 4mph.

the cyclist takes off 2 hours later, and goes 14mph.

now, when they both meet, namely the cyclist comes from behind and meets ahead the runner, the distances both of them travelled, is say "d" miles for both, since both of them are "d" miles from the starting point.

if by them the cyclist has been going for say "t" hours, we know she took 2 hours later, so by the the runner has been running for "t + 2" hours then.

Clarissa works in sales for a software company. Her pay each month varies, because each month she receives a base pay of $2,400.
Pie

Answer:

Total earning of Clarissa for the november month is $3840 .

Step-by-step explanation:

As given

Clarissa works in sales for a software company.

Her pay each month varies, because each month she receives a base pay of $2,400.00 plus 8% commission on her sales.

During the month of November, Clarissa had $18,000.00 in sales.

8% is written in the decimal form

= \frac{8}{100}

= 0.08

Commission price = 0.08 × sales in november month .

                              = 0.08 × 18000

                              = $ 1440

Total earning in november month = Base price + Commission price

                                                         = $2400 + $ 1440

                                                         = $ 3840

Therefore the total earning of Clarissa for the november month is $3840 .
