The Southerners had reason to be concerned about the long-term viability of their slave system because they were economically less in everywhere from the North and the north had more population than the south.

<h3>Slavery in Southern America</h3>

Slavery was a major factor in the economy of the south. The southern colonies depended so so much on slaves to work in their farms and as means of economic livelihood.

   The demand for labor made southern territories to abhor the idea of abolishing slavery. They had valid reasons to be concerned over the long term viability of the slave system because they had less economic advantage when compare to the North and they also had less population.
