If it’s only 1.4x + 3.5y then that’s the answer because you can’t do anything with them. Since one has an x variable and the other has a y variable you can’t combine them together.

Factor completely 2x^2 − 2x − 40. 2(x − 5)(x 4) (2x − 10)(x 4) (x − 5)(2x 8) 2(x − 4)(x 5)
Zina [86]
2x^2 - 2x - 40 = 2x^2 -10x + 8x - 40 = 2x(x - 5) + 8(x - 5)

= (x-5)(2x+8) = 2(x-5)(x+4)
