Valli was a small girl who used to look at the bus each day passing from her village to the town.

Valli found out that it took forty-five minutes for the bus to travel from her village to the town. She learned that the distance between her village and the town was six meters. The cost of one way trip from her village to the town was thirty paise.

Valli managed to find all these details by hearing the conversations of the neighbours or other people. She also asked a few questions whenever possible to learn more. This way she learned small details of the journey.
