Answer:

Elements of a Map

Data Frame. The data frame is the portion of the map that displays the data layers. This section is the most important and central focus of the map document.

Legend. The legend serves as the decoder for the symbology in the data frame. Therefore, it is also commonly known as the key.

Title. The title is important because it instantly gives the viewer a succinct description of the subject matter of the map.

North Arrow. The purpose of the north arrow is for orientation. This allows the viewer to determine the direction of the map as it relates to due north.

Scale. The scale explains the relationship of the data frame extent to the real world. The description is a ratio.

Slaves were used in the American colonies mainly because
mamaluj [8]

Answer:

A

Explanation:

During the 1700s and 1800s, colonists took part in the American Slave Trade, where they drove thousands of Africans out of their home countries and forced them to work for the Americans. Due to the color of the Africans' skin, colonists thought that they were inferior to Americans/whites and that colonists could then work Africans without any pay.

This kind of work not only gave colonists a sense of freedom because they no longer had to endure the backbreaking work, but it also relieved them of financial burden since they didn't have to pay their slaves.

Look for an answer choice that matches the above description. Only A makes sense.

B is wrong because people were not required to have slaves. They could if they wanted to.

C is wrong because it was not illegal to pay slaves; colonists just chose not to because that would benefit them more.

D is wrong because it was not illegal for others to do work; in fact, many colonists did work on their own farms before, during, and after the Slave Trade.

Hope this helps!

Whose idea was the boycott?
slamgirl [31]

Depends, which boycott are we talking about? I'm guessing you are talking about the Montgomery Bus Boycott

The Montgomery Bus Boycott was a civil-rights movement in the 1950's where African Americans refused to ride city buses because of segregated seats. It started because of a woman named Rosa Parks who refused to give up her bus seat to a white man who had boarded the bus. She was arrested for this, and this sparked the boycott. Martin Luther King Jr. lead this movement and made it to Supreme Court, ruling that segregated buses were unconstitutional, and the boycott ended successfully.

Hope that helped :)
