<h3>What is Nutrient?</h3>
This is a substance which provides nourishment and ensures that the organism grows and survives. They are used by the body cells for their various metabolic activities.
Examples of nutrients which are present in various food substances include the following:
Vitamins
Protein
Carbohydrates
Fats and oil etc.
Carbohydrate is responsible for the provision of energy which is needed by the cells for their daily activities while protein helps to build and repair worn out tissues present in the body.
The cell membrane is <u>the </u><u>boundary</u><u> of</u><u> the</u><u> </u><u>cell.</u><u> </u>The outer layer of the cell (plant cells have cell wall but cell membrane is also there) which protects it is known as the cell membrane. Cell membrane is semi permeable because it has to make available the passage of water & other gases. The marked area in the attached figure is the cell membrane.
