The Quetzalcoatl Temple and the Tezcacoac The Temple of Quetzalcoatl, located at the rear centre of the enormous Ciudadela property, is one of the most significant pyramidal buildings in the world.

The Aztecs started building the first temple the year after they founded the city, and it was rebuilt six times. Except for the first, all seven stages of the Templo Mayor have been unearthed and assigned to the reigns of the emperors who were in charge of them. The first Templo Mayor was built after 1325. Following the destruction of Tenochtitlan, the Templo Mayor, like most of the city, was dismantled and the land reconstructed with new Spanish colonial city architecture. The precise location of the Temple was lost. By the twentieth century, scholars had a decent understanding of where to look for it.

How does the map of modern Europe differ from the map of Europe in the 17th century? (5 points)
saul85 [17]
A is most likely right because a lot modern European countries get their borders from cultural and linguistic boundaries after old empires like Austria-Hungary, Russia, and Germany split up. Poland, Czechoslovakia, and Slovenia, just to name a few, were ethnic groups without countries before WW1.

B: isn't true, just look at eastern Europe in the 17th century, tons of ethnic groups living in one country. Even with more immigration to the Europe, most immigrants assimilate into European cultures.

C: Although geography can influence political borders to varying degrees, European nations don't strictly follow physical geographic features to my knowledge. There are a lot of borders based off of rivers you can see have stayed the same despite the rivers moving (Serbia and Croatia's border is a prime example)

D: I don't know what 'define' means in this context, but if it means religion and geography are the main reasons Europe get's their borders is just flat out wrong. We already talked about geography, but religion doesn't effect European borders since most European countries are christians and are secular. The only example I can think off the top of my head of religion affecting borders is in Ireland when they separated the protestant north from the rest of the island which was catholic.

Hope this helped you out :)

Did the north secede from the union during the civil war? why or why not?
vladimir2022 [97]

Answer:

North Carolina waited longer than any other state except Tennessee to secede from the Union and join the Confederacy. This is not to say that the Old North State had no secessionists. Rather, North Carolinians had conflicting ideas about leaving the Union.

Explanation:

Although staunch supporters of slavery, many North Carolinians hesitated when it came to taking such a significant step as secession. Some felt it better to stay in the Union and enjoy the Constitutional protections offered there, rather than give up those protections to embark on a new journey. However, when Confederate forces fired upon Fort Sumter and President Abraham Lincoln asked for troops from North Carolina to put down the rebellion, the state acted swiftly and decisively. North Carolina seceded from the Union on May 20, 1861, and the state's involvement in the Civil War began.
