They must mix 40 pounds of the Terraza Blend 20 pounds of the Breakfast Blend

The equation for the mix

x is the blend of Tereza

y is the blend of breakfast coffee

We have to form the following equations

x + y = 60 ---- 1

8.2x + 11.7y = 60 x 9.37 -----2

From equation 1

y = 60 - x

we have to put the above into equation 2

such that we would have

8.2x + 11.7( 60 - x) = 562.6

8.2x + 702 - 11.7x = 562.6

we have to take the like terms

8.2x - 11.7x = 562.6 - 702

3.5x = 139.4

divide through by 3.5x

x = 139.4/3.5

= 39.8 this is approximately 40

Remember that y = 60 - x

y = 60 - 40

y = 20

Hence we would have the statement as

They must mix 40 pounds of the Terraza Blend 20 pounds of the Breakfast Blend

Given f(x) = 4x3 − 12x2 + 40x + 12, find f(–2).
Sergio039 [100]

Hey there! :)

Answer:

f(-2) = -148.

Step-by-step explanation:

To calculate f(-2), simplify substitute -2 for x in the equation. Therefore:

f(x) = 4x³ -12x² + 40x + 12

Becomes:

f(-2) = 4(-2)³ - 12(-2)² + 40(-2) + 12

Simplify:

f(-2) = 4(-8) - 12(4) - 80 + 12

f(-2) = -32 - 48 -80 + 12

Finally, you get:

f(-2) = -148.

Triangle ABC is the preimage, or the "before"; while triangle A'B'C' is the image, which is the "after".
