The quantity of popcorn each friend of the students receive is 5/36 gallons.

<h3>Division of fraction</h3>

  • Number of gallons of popcorn the student .has = 5/9 gallons

  • Number of the student's friends = 4

Quantity of popcorn each friend receive = Number of gallons of popcorn the student has / Number of the student's friends

= 5/9 ÷ 4

= 5/9 × 1/4

= (5 × 1) / (9 × 4)

= 5/36

Therefore, the quantity of popcorn each friend of the students receive is 5/36 gallons

Let sin(−θ)=−3/5 and tanθ&gt;0. What is the value of cos(−θ)?
Jobisdone [24]

Answer:

The value of  Cos (-Ф) \dfrac{\textrm 4}{\textrm 5} .

Step-by-step explanation:

Given Trigonometric function as :

sin( - Ф ) = \frac{- 3}{5}

- sin Ф = \frac{- 3}{5}

So, sin Ф = \frac{ 3}{5}

Now, as sin Ф = \dfrac{\textrm perpendicular}{\textrm hypotenuse}

So ,  \dfrac{\textrm perpendicular}{\textrm hypotenuse} =  \frac{ 3}{5}

So, perpendicular = 3

And hypotenuse = 5

Now,<u> From Pythagoras Theorem</u>

Base ² = Hypotenuse² - Perpendicular²

Or, Base ² = 5² - 3²

Or, Base ² = 25 - 9

Or, Base ² = 16

∴  Base = \sqrt{16}

I.e Base = 4

Now, Cos Ф =  \dfrac{\textrm base}{\textrm hypotenuse}

So, Cos Ф =  \dfrac{\textrm 4}{\textrm 5}

Now , Since

Cos ( - Ф ) = Cos Ф

So,  Cos ( - Ф ) = Cos Ф =  \dfrac{\textrm 4}{\textrm 5}

Hence The value of  Cos (-Ф) \dfrac{\textrm 4}{\textrm 5} . Answer

A line has a slope of -8 and includes the points (-10, 0) and (-9, z). What is the value of Z?
Evgesh-ka [11]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Let L be the given line, then, with a slope of -8

L :  y = -8x + b

where b is to be determined from the included point A(-10,0).

Substitute point A in L to get

0 = -8 (-10) + b

solve to get

b = -80

therefore

L : y = -8x -80

Now substitute B(-9,z) in L

z = -8(-9) - 80 = -8
