Two bacterial foodborne diseases is the infective dose thought to be very low are E. coli 0157:H7 and listeriosis.

  • Escherichia coli (abbreviated as E. coli) are bacteria found in the environment, foods, and intestines of people and animals. E. coli are a large and diverse group of bacteria. Although most strains of E. coli are harmless, others can make you sick.
  • Listeriosis is a potentially fatal sickness caused by consuming food infected with the bacteria Listeria monocytogenes. Each year, an estimated 1,600 people contract listeriosis, with approximately 260 dying. Listeria monocytogenes (L. monocytogenes) is a pathogenic (disease-causing) bacterium found in wet habitats, soil, water, decaying vegetation, and animals, and it may survive and even thrive under refrigeration and other food preservation procedures.

Why would you expect an earthworm to lack an exoskeleton??
Murrr4er [49]
You would expect an earthworm to have no exoskeleton because as you see it is very flexible and soft. Organisms with such have body parts that are divided and an earthworm do not have any visible parts on them also having an exoskeleton would not allow an organism to move like an earthworm does.
