We can actually deduce here that what happened to the water temperature as the leading edge of Hurricane Irene passed over the AUV is that as it passed over the AUV, there was a drastic drop in the water temperature of the surface of the ocean. It was noticed that cold water began to enter deeper below the surface.

What is Hurricane Irene?

Hurricane Irene was known to be a destructive cyclone that hit the Caribbean and East Coast of the United States around August 21st 2011 to the end of August 2011. This hurricane is actually known to be very destructive and a large one at that.

Hurricanes, like earthquakes are natural disasters that whenever they occur, they destroy life and properties.

The above tells us what happens to the water temperature.
