The crowd gathered around a chain-link fence and waited for the show to begin. The artist approached the large tree stump and po

wered up his chainsaw with a loud roar. Everyone was startled even though they knew the sound was coming. Swinging the saw in rhythmic motions and lunging forward to make quick stabs at the wood, the artist began to create an image. The people in the crowd turned their heads and squinted their eyes, trying to make out what shape the sculpture would take. Time passed quickly and the buzz of the saw dominated the scene for most of the afternoon. Then, just as the evening light softened the forest, the artist set down his saw and touched the face of the giant grizzly bear with his bare hand.

The piece of evidence from the paragraph that supports the inference that the artist is inspired by nature is:

b )He carves animals out of wood.

What inspired the artist's works?

The text shows that the artist was inspired by nature. The people watched intently as this artist shaped a log of wood. In the end, they discovered that he was trying to carve a grizzly bear from the log. His inspiration, in this case, was the animals which are part of nature. So, we can say that the artist is inspired by nature.

It is not unusual to find that many artists get inspiration from things that they find around them. For some, it is nature while others get inspiration from themselves or the people around them. Whatever the case, after they have translated their motivation into action, then observers will see the artwork and what it represents and appreciate it..
