Drug abuse has been linked to a variety of negative effects, including an increased probability of severe drug use later in life, poor school performance, and poor judgment, that could leave kids at risk for criminal activity.

Teenagers frequently experiment with a wide range of activities and drugs. Unfortunately, drug misuse and addiction can result from this experimenting.

According to statistics, teen drug addiction is on the rise. In addition to cocaine, Ecstasy, and other club drugs, a recent study found that marijuana (31.5%), Vicodin (9.7%), amphetamines (8.1%), cough medication (6.9%), and sedatives and tranquilizers (6.6% each) are the top six most overused drugs among teenagers.

Without treatment, the impacts of teenage drug abuse can have major ramifications now and into adulthood.
