He was the ruler of the Mughal empire during the period from 1605 to 1627, his real name was Nur-ud-din Mohammad Salim and his imperial name in Persian has the meaning of ruler and conqueror of the world.

Therefore, Jahangir's reign stands out for the struggles to maintain his power, since during his life he had to face his son who tried to ascend to the throne, being condemned to death. Also noteworthy are its foreign relations, such as its alliances with Mongols, Ottomans and Uzbeks.
