An iron atom has a charge of zero. It's charge increases to 2+. Due to the increase in oxidation state, the atom is said to be oxidised. Oxidation occurs when an atom loses electrons.
Hence, the answer is (a).

Answer:   a. it lost electrons and was oxidized.

Explanation:  In a chemical reaction, there is one species which loses its electrons and the others species will always accept electrons.

The species which lose electrons will get oxidized and the species which accept electrons will gets oxidized.

This chemical reaction is specifically known as Redox reaction in which one species gets reduced and the other one will get oxidized.

In the given reaction, Iron atom become the cation Fe^{2+}, thus getting oxidized

                          Fe\rightarrow Fe^{2+} + 2e

Answer: 125.0964 g

Explanation:

Density = mass/volume

Density = 2.7 gcm-3

Volume = 2.7*14.3 = 46.332

Mass=?

Mass= density*volume

= 2.7 x 46.332 = 125.0964 g

Hope this helps! :)

For the reactionN2(g)+O2(g)?2NO(g)classify each of the following actions by whether it causes a leftward shift, a rightward shif
Soloha48 [4]

Answer: Le Chatleir Principle

Explanation:  The answer of this question can be easily explanied through the Le Chatleir Principle which states that In order to maintain the equilibrium of the reaction, the stress applied to that particular direction will move the equilibrium to the opposite direction in which the stress has been applied.

The given reaction is -

      N_{2}(g)+O_{2}(g)\rightleftharpoons 2NO(g)

If the amount of the oxygen is reduced to half and is being doubled, then the reaction will move in froward direction that is a rightward shift. Same situation will arise in option c and d.

If the amount of nitrogen monoxide is reduced to half or being doubled, the reaction will move towards backward direction that is a leftward reaction.

Which of the following describes the stage that occurs after condensation in the water cycle?
NISA [10]

Answer:

Precipitation

Explanation:

There are four main stages in the water cycle. They are evaporation, condensation, precipitation and collection. Let's look at each of these stages. Evaporation: This is when warmth from the sun causes water from oceans, lakes, streams, ice and soils to rise into the air and turn into water vapour (gas).

Citrus2011 [14]

Answer:

The median would be 6700

Explanation:

Arrange data values from lowest to highest value

The median is the data value in the middle of the set

.

Ordering a data set x1 ≤ x2 ≤ x3 ≤ ... ≤ xn from lowest to highest value, the median x˜ is the data point separating the upper half of the data values from the lower half.

If the size of the data set n is odd the median is the value at position p where

Formula for the median

p=n+12

x˜=xp

If n is even the median is the average of the values at positions p and p + 1 where

p=n2

x˜=xp+xp+12

If there are 2 data values in the middle the median is the mean of those 2 values.
