After the decimal point when the denominator is 10, the equivalent decimal have 1 place to the right side of the decimal point.

Given: To find how many places after the decimal point the equivalent decimal have if the denominator is 10.

What are decimal numbers?

Decimal numbers are those numbers which consist of an integer part and a fractional part. It has a base 10 number system. They lie between integers in the number line. There can be infinite numbers of decimal numbers between two integer numbers or even between two decimal numbers.

They play a vital role in representing fractions too.

For example: Let's take an arbitrary decimal number say 6.78.

Here 6 is the integer part. We can also call it the whole part and 0.78 is the fractional part. we can also write decimal numbers as a sum of whole and fractional part like this: 6.78 = 6 + 0.78

What are equivalent decimal numbers?

Equivalent decimal numbers are those decimal numbers which have the same value. For example 0.1 and 0.10 , both have the same value. Hence, they are equivalent decimal numbers.

Now solving the given question.

Let's consider an arbitrary number say the lowest natural number that is 1.

Now to convert it into decimal we need to divide it but some number.

As per the question, it's given to find the equivalent decimal number when divided by 10.

So 1 / 10 where 1 is the numerator and 10 is the denominator.

1 / 10 equivalents to 0.1

Therefore, after the decimal point the equivalent decimal have 1 place to the right of the decimal point.

Hence after the decimal point when the denominator is 10, the equivalent decimal have 1 place to the right side of the decimal point.
