Doris and Kathleen, who are neighbors, enter into an agreement to not permit their real estate agents to sell their homes to families with children. this agreement lacks a lawful objective, so it's void.

The object of an agreement must not be fraudulent or illegal or immoral or critical public policy or must not imply injury to the person or property of another.

Under Section 23 of the Indian Contract Act clearly states that the consideration and/or object of a contract are considered lawful consideration and/or object unless they're specifically forbidden by law of such a nature that they'd defeat the aim of the law.

For example:- A contract to sell a stolen car is voidable contract from the start, as is it illegal to sell a stolen car.
