During cell division, it is likely the chromosomes will not separate properly if the centrioles fail to attach to the structure which is referred to as the lysosome.

What is Lysosome?

This is referred to as an organelle which is responsible for the digestion of different types of biomolecules such as nucleic acids, carbohydrates etc.

Cell division is the process in which mother cells are divided into two or more daughter cells and there are two types which are called meiosis and mitosis and have different functions in the cell. They ensure that certain types of traits are passed from the parent cell to the offspring

Lysosome is actively involved in cell division as the centrioles attach to it thereby resulting in the chromosomes being separated properly due to its ability to digest parts of the structure.

This is therefore the reason why lysosome was chosen as the most appropriate choice.
