If you would like to solve the equation 8 = N + 0.005, you can do this using the following step:

8 = N + 0.005       /-0.005
N = 8 - 0.005
N = 7.995

The correct result would be 7.995.

Which sets are not closed under subtraction
anastassius [24]

If you're referring to the different sets of real numbers, it's the ones that you could try to do subtraction and not get an answer that still in that set.

For example, natural numbers (aka 1, 2, 3, 4, ...) are not, because 7 - 11 = -4 and -4 is not a natural number.

Also, whole numbers (aka 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, ...) has the same issue.

Basically any set of real numbers that doesn't include negative numbers will have this issue.

What is the equation of the perpendicular bisector of line AB?
Usimov [2.4K]
It should be B

Because the slope of AB is 6/5 and when you are finding it’s perpendicular bisector then the slope of that line should be the negative reciprocal, it should be -5/6.

A cube has a volume of 512 mm^3. If all sides of the cube are divided by 4, what will the resulting volume be?
pshichka [43]
\bf \textit{volume of a cube}\\\\
V=s^3\qquad \boxed{s=\frac{s}{4}}\implies V=\left( \cfrac{s}{4} \right)^3\implies V=\cfrac{s^3}{4^3}\implies V=s^3\cdot \cfrac{1}{4^3}
\\\\\\
V=s^3\cdot \cfrac{1}{64}\impliedby \frac{1}{64}\textit{ of the original volume, if the original was 512}
\\\\\\
512\cdot \cfrac{1}{64}\implies \cfrac{512}{64}
