Peyer's patches are clusters of lymphoid tissue found primarily in the large intenstine.

What is Lymphoid tissue ?

Organized tissues called lymphoid tissues aid immune responses. Primary lymphoid tissues and the locations of lymphocyte formation are the bone marrow and the thymus. Secondary lymphoid tissue includes the lymph nodes, spleen, tonsils, and Peyer's patches, for example.

  • The mucosa-associated lymphoid tissue (MALT), also known as mucosa-associated lymphatic tissue, is a diffuse system of small concentrations of lymphoid tissue located in a number of submucosal membrane sites throughout the body, including the gastrointestinal tract, nasopharynx, thyroid, breast, lung, salivary glands, eye, and skin.

In the heterozygous state (w+ / w), a variegated eye is produced, with white and red patches. How might one explain position-eff
Yuri [45]

Answer:

2. The white patches are caused by the deacetylation of the histones associated with the DNA of the w + allele.

3. The red patches are caused by the acetylation of the histones associated with the DNA of the w + allele.

Explanation:

The complete question is as follows:

How might one explain position-effect variegation in terms ofhistone acetylation and/or deacetylation? Select all thatapply.

1. The white patches are caused by the acetylation of the histonesassociated with the DNA of the w + allele.

2. The white patches are caused by the deacetylation of thehistones associated with the DNA of the w + allele.

3. The red patches are caused by the acetylation of the histonesassociated with the DNA of the w + allele.

4. The red patches are caused by the deacetylation of the histonesassociated with the DNA of the w + allele.

In the W+/W State variegated eye is produced, however in reality the W+ allele causes a red eye colour whereas the W allele causes a white eye.

The reason for production of variegated eyes is chromosomal rearrangement.

Due to the chromosomal rearrangement the W+ gene's position gets changed and it moves from a region of euchromatin to heterochromatin and this position affect leads to red and white patches in the eye.

The heterochromatin is silent region of the genome which does not encode for any product and this is caused by histone deacetylation whereas the histone acetylation makes the chromosomes more accessible and contributes the euchromatin region.

How does the change in the estrogen level corrrespond to the gradual thickening of the uterine lining
vfiekz [6]
The gradual thickening of the uterine lining also called Endometrial Hyperplasia is often caused by having excess estrogen without enough progesterone to balance it. During menstruation, the estrogen causes the lining to thicken in preparation for pregnancy. When the progesterone is made during the second half of the cycle and the progesterone levels drop, the lining is shed. And if the ovulation didn’t occur, progesterone is not made and the lining is not shed properly, the lining will keep on building gradually that may lead to cancer in some women.
